Starting a blog...

I'm intending to mostly use this blog to focus on thoughts and ideas that I have about my writing and to let people know what I'm working on now and next, but I'm also planning some big changes in my personal life over the next few years, so as things happen, I'll write about those here as well.

On the right is a list of my books - as they are published, I'll add links to sellers.  Any books that I bring out in hardback will also be available from me directly, signed with a message of your choice at cover price + P&P.  I'll also use the blog to communicate any offers etc.

If you want to contact me, then please use Facebook messaging through my Author page on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/AndyEllisWriter

Writing Progress.

Right now, I should be writing "Proctor: The Art of Living" which is currently at 23000 words.  At the moment I expect it to be around 40,000 words or ~150 pages.  I expect to complete it in around two to three weeks and then I'll get it beta-read and then publish it directly to Kindle.  This may well mean it's my first publicly available work.

I'm looking for someone to do some cover art for Proctor novellas.  There's a post on Facebook about it that reads...

"I'm looking for someone to do covers for my Proctor novellas.

I can't pay much (or anything really...), but all I want is good quality high resolution (8Mp+) photos. Whoever does the images can keep them and they will be credited and copyrighted to the artist in the book and perhaps at a later stage may increase in value. What the artist does with the pictures is up to them.
The artwork should relate in some way to the book, but that gives quite a broad range of subjects. An idea I had for the first was a rice paddy in tropical rain skirted by jungle with smoke rising over a point in the centre, with a guy in grey armour stood to one side. Anyway, I'm happy to discuss it (pm) and I can supply descriptive text where appropriate.
I'll consider anything from anyone and everything I get I'll post here."

Publishing Progress.

"Night Time in Shanghai" is currently with my publisher.  The latest update I received from them says "We are currently designing the cover and this will be emailed to you soon... ...We have also formatted and house styled the text and we are going through it".  As soon as I receive the drafts of the cover images, and assuming that I can get permission to post them, I'll add them here.

I have received a contract offer from my publisher for "The Gaps Between The Stars" but after further discussion with my publisher, we have put a hold on that contract until we see how well NTiS is received at the marketing stage.  I am hoping to proceed with publication as soon as NTiS is available.

A Little Personal News.

As some of you may already know, I currently live with my 18 year old daughter, Natasha in Gateshead in the North East of the UK.  Later this year, she will be going away to university.

I have a passion for boating and my idea of heaven is slowly trolling around the UK Inland Waterways in a small boat, finding a few quiet corners to moor-up for a few days (maybe with a good pub within twenty minutes walk) and do some writing.  So once Natasha's away to university, that's what I hope to do.  As I (hopefully) set off down this path (canal) I'll post about it here.
